KOHLRABI WITH APPLES
We still have lots of apples left over from this season, so this is a good way to use them up
50g (2 oz/1/2 stick) butter or margarine
450g (1 lb/2 cups) kohlrabi, peeled and cut into thin slices
225g (8 oz/1 cup) apples, peeled, cored and cut into thin wedges
1/2 tsp ground ginger (optional)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste (Serves 4)
1. Melt butter or margarine in a pan and add kohlrabi slices. Saute until just soft and starting to brown, stirring frequenly, about 15 minutes.
2. Add the apple wedges, ground ginger, if using, salt and pepper to taste and continue to saute until apple is cooked, stirring frequently.
3. Serve.
